HÀ NỘI — Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc has proposed the World Health Organisation (WHO) increase technical and financial assistance for Việt Nam, particularly in building healthcare policies and in the preparation and adaptation to public health issues.
At a reception in Hà Nội for Shin Young-soo, WHO Regional Director for Western Pacific yesterday, Phúc said Việt Nam is building a master plan to implement sustainable development goals set by the United Nations and wished to receive support from international organisations, including the WHO.
Phúc thanked the WHO for its co-operation and effective assistance, including the contribution by Director Young-soo, for the development of the healthcare sector of Việt Nam.
He stressed that Việt Nam has effectively implemented projects using ODA for the healthcare sector such as investing in infrastructure construction, purchasing modern equipment, developing human resources, technology transfer and scientific research.
For his part, Director Young-soo said Việt Nam had made encouraging achievements in the field of healthcare and affirmed to increase co-operation with Việt Nam in the field. — VNS
