HÀ NỘI — The 10th round of negotiations of the working group on less sensitive sea-related issues between Việt Namand Chinawas held in Beijing, China, from December 11 to 14.

In a straightforward and friendly manner, the two sides reviewed the situation and expressed their delight at the cooperation outcomes in 2017.

They also devised a working agenda for cooperation projects in 2018. These include studying and comparing Holocene sediments of the Red River Delta and the Yangtze River Delta; studying the management of the sea and island environment in the Gulfof Tonkin,and releasing fry and protecting aquatic resources in the Gulfof Tonkin.

The delegates also discussed the possibility of cooperation on some new projects within the framework of the working group on less sensitive fields at sea. They emphasised that cooperation should occur on the basis of high-level agreements in an equal, mutually beneficial, practical and effective manner, and in line with each side’s resources, thereby helping to promote the Việt Nam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.

They agreed to organise the working group’s 11th round of talks in Việt Namin 2018. — VNS
